Facebook offers $100M grant program for small business owners impacted by COVID-19

Facebook is now offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits to help during this challenging time.“We want to do more,” said COO Sheryl Sandberg in a Facebook post. “Teams across our company are working every day to help businesses. We’re looking at additional ways to host virtual training – and will have more to share in the coming weeks – and we’re finding more ways to help people connect and learn to use technology through Blueprint, our free e-learning training program.”

Here’s how the grant program can help your business:

  • Keep your workforce going strong
  • Help with your rent costs
  • Connect with more customers
  • Cover operational costs

Who’s eligible?

Up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in more than 30 countries where we operate will be able to receive the grant. To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Be a for-profit company
  • Have between 2 and 50 employees
  • Have been in business for over a year
  • Have experienced challenges from COVID-19
  • Be in or near a location where Facebook operates

How to apply?

Facebook has partnered up with Ureeka to administer the application process. If you meet the eligibility requirements above, you can apply as soon as applications become available in your area. Full Terms and Conditions for the Small Business Grant Program can be found here and full Grant Privacy Policy can be found here

To complete your application, you’ll need at least one of the following documents:

  • Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
  • Partnership documents
  • Business license
  • Proof of incorporation
  • Official registration

Ureeka’s application for a Facebook grant will ask you to share your contact information, brief summary about your business, and how you would use the cash grant.

In your application, you will be asked to explain how you would use your grant funds to make an impact on your business or in your community. For example, you could use the grant to continue paying employees, or to provide critical services through pickup and delivery methods.

What to expect after you apply?

After applications become available in your area, you will have 2 weeks to apply before the application deadline. We’ll then need a few weeks to review your application, ask follow up questions, and select our finalists before announcing grant recipients.
